Saving yourself

Francoise Sagan said, ‘It is healthier to see the good points of others than to analyze our own bad one.’

All that we are trying to find is the beauty of this world and others. Looking for the good in others can be one of the most challenging things in this world. You may think I am wrong but people often have the tendency of scaring any good perception you have of them. It’s true that self-respect, self-love grows each time we openly acknowledge another person’s admirable qualities because when we sail past our own pride and judgmental nature to embrace the humanity of others, we see our own beauty.

Our world is filled with flawed people who are not worth saving themselves. People live with moments of deep depression and consuming bouts of insecurity and pain. You can say we’ll be better off not touching other people; but would that really make us better? Our culture is different just as much as we are. We can’t change our culture. And I’d hate to think that it’s our culture that has made us what we are.

See the good in people. Offer love to people. Think right about people. The world is filled with enough hate. Don’t add to it. Praise softens and criticism hardens. We are humans-imperfection is part of who we are so stop criticizing other people because they lie and you don’t. You may like to steal and they may not. The mere idea that you are not perfect should encourage you to see the good in others because in so doing, you may learn to accept yourself. Every day is an opportunity to see past the yellow tapes in other peoples’ lives. There is no change without acceptance.
